I grew up in the tranquil town of Badlapur, situated not too far (and not too close) from the bustling city of Mumbai. I developed a liking towards smaller animals wild creatures like reptiles and amphibians when I was in school and borrowed point and shoot cameras from anyone who was ready to lend me to photograph these creatures. My dad gifted me my first DSLR camera when I was 17. Owning my own camera opened up numerous new possiblities and I started taking more creative and contemporary images of whatever I could. Carrying on with my first photographic passion of shooting animals, I discovered newer interests in street and people photography. I won many accolades and awards for my work in photography on National and International level. In 2014, one of my closest suggested I should photograph his wedding. It was a completely new arena for me but I took up the challenge and was mesmerized with the possibilites and joy it brought. It gave me an adrenaline rush and I knew then and there that this is how I can turn my passion into my profession.
After juggling with wedding photography along with my job as a marketing professional for a US based firm for 4 years, I decided to leave my job and took up wedding photography as a full time career in 2018. I had spent most of my career as a candid photographer, but then I decided to take up cinematography as a primary role and it hooked to the art of making wedding films and telling stories through it. In the last 5 years I have shot more films than I have taken photographs. Life has changed a lot but the one constant I experience is the energy and joy I feel when I take a camera in my hands. All the exhaustion, anxiety, and stress just disappears and I feel lucky to still experience the same kind of joy as I experienced as a kid who took up a borrowed camera to photograph some animal. I now juggle (happily) with my role as a brand owner, a son, a husband, a friend and a father but that kid who just loved photographing anything in front of him in a creative perspetive still lives inside me and comes up everytime I touch a camera.
